Make your fleet HOS compliant

bluevans.jpgThe Department of Transportation has just finalized important changes on how Hours of Service (HOS) is logged for commercial or fleet drivers.

The final ELD Mandate ruling states that every driver who operates a commercial vehicle must use Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) instead of paper logs to document their hours-of-service record and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) upon usage.

Whilst information is quickly becoming available on what you must do in order to become compliant, knowing what to look for in an ELD solution and finding the right one to suit your business needs can be a challenge.

Do you know what to look for in an ELD solution? To make it as easy as possible for you to become compliant and avoid hefty violations and fines under the news laws, a suitable solution should look to offer:

  • Real-time electronic record keeping of HOS/DVIR activities

  • Support for FMCSA 395.15 standards for monitoring Hours of Service

  • Support for FMCSA 396.11 standards for driver vehicle inspection record keeping

  • Automatic calculation of driver availability based on assigned rules

  • Easy access to drivers’ duty status and driving history

  • Record storage in compliance with FMCSA requirements

  • Driver alerts to warn of possible violations

  • Advanced DVIR capability to confirm vehicle inspections

Trimble will be hosting a Webinar on Tuesday April 5th at 1pm EST/ 10am PST to discuss the final ruling and to showcase its FieldMaster Logs ELD solution. Experts will take you through the top features and functionality of the mobile app to demonstrate how you can look to reduce errors by using electronic logs, save time by automating your records and decrease time spent during inspections.
